Step1

Niyyah & Ihram

  • Make intention for Umrah.
  • Wear Ihram before Meeqat.
  • Recite Talbiyah: "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik...

Entering Masjid Al-Haram

  • Recite the Dua before entering the mosque: اللهم افتح لي أبواب رحمتك "Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatik" (O Allah! Open for me the doors of Your mercy).
  • When you see the Kaaba for the first time, make a heartfelt dua, as it is a moment when duas are accepted.

Tawaf (Circumambulation) – 7 Rounds

  • Start at the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad) and raise your hands towards the Kaaba, saying: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar" (In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest).
  • Perform 7 counterclockwise rounds around the Kaaba.
  • Men: Walk briskly in the first 3 rounds (Ramal) and normally in the last 4 rounds.
  • Recite the Third Kalima while performing Tawaf: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ "Subhanallahi wal Hamdulillahi wa La ilaha illallah wa Allahu Akbar, wa La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil Aliyyil Azeem."
  • Between Rukn Yamani and Hajr-e-Aswad, recite this full Dua: رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ وَأَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفَّارُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ "Rabbana Atina Fid-Dunya Hasanah, Wa Fil-Akhirati Hasanah, Wa Qina 'Azabannar, Wa Adkhilnal Jannata Ma’al Abrar, Ya Aziz, Ya Ghaffar, Ya Rabbal ‘Alamin."
  • Recite duas throughout and seek Allah’s blessings.

Pray 2 Rak’ahs at Maqam-e-Ibrahim

  • After completing Tawaf, pray two rak’ahs of Salah within the Mataf, behind Maqam-e-Ibrahim.
  • Recite Surah Al-Kafirun in the first rak’ah and Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second rak’ah (optional).

Drink Zamzam Water

  • Face the Qibla and drink Zamzam water with the intention of purification and blessings.
  • Make dua, as Zamzam is a blessed water that fulfills supplications.

Sa’i (Walking Between Safa & Marwah) – 7 Laps

  • Proceed to Safa hill and recite: إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ "Innas-Safa wal-Marwah min Sha’a’irillah" (Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah).
  • Make dua, then start walking toward Marwah.
  • Men: Walk normally but run briskly between the two green lights.
  • Women: Walk at a normal pace throughout.
  • Complete 7 rounds (Safa to Marwah = 1, Marwah to Safa = 2, and so on).

Halq (Shaving) or Taqsir (Haircut)

  • Men: Completely shave their heads (Halq) or trim the hair evenly.
  • Women: Cut a small portion of their hair (about an inch) (Taqsir).

HOW TO PERFORM HAJJ? (Ungraphically)

Ihram – the sacred state of purity for Hajj or Umrah, marked by special attire and rules.

Maqam e Ibrahim – the stone marking Prophet Ibrahim's (PBUH) standing place during the Kaaba's construction.

Pray 2 Rak’ahs at Maqam-e-Ibrahim

  • After completing Tawaf, pray two rak’ahs of Salah within the Mataf, behind Maqam-e-Ibrahim.(Wajib)

     
  • Recite Surah Al-Kafirun in the first rak’ah and Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second rak’ah (optional).

Zamzam Water – sacred water from the well in Masjid al-Haram, Mecca.

06. Departing for Mina (8th Dhul-Hijjah)
  • Enter the state of Ihram and make Niyyah (intention) for Hajj

  • Recite Talbiyah continuously

  • Travel to Mina and perform five prayers (Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr)

  • Stay in Mina overnight and prepare for Arafah

07. The Day of Arafah – 9th Dhul-Hijjah
  • After Fajr prayer in Mina, travel to Arafah

  • Perform Zuhr and Asr prayers combined (Jama’)

  • Listen to the Hajj sermon (Khutbah) at Masjid Namirah

  • Spend time in dua, repentance, and worship

  • Leave for Muzdalifah after sunset (without praying Maghrib)

08. Muzdalifah – Collecting Pebbles (Night of 9th Dhul-Hijjah)
  • Upon arrival, perform Maghrib and Isha prayers combined

  • Collect 49 or 70 pebbles for the next day’s ritual

  • Sleep under the open sky and perform Fajr prayer before leaving

  • Pick extra stones in case of missed throws.

  • Stand close but safely while throwing.

  • If missed, try again within the valid timeframe.

09. Rami – Stoning the Big Devil (10th Dhul-Hijjah)
  • Throw 7 stones at only the Big Jamarah (Jamarat al-Aqaba).
  • Time: After Fajr till Maghrib (Best time: After sunrise).
  • Takbir: Say "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar" with each throw.

10. Qurbani (10th Dhul-Hijjah – Eid Day)
  • A healthy sheep/goat (for one person) or cow/camel (for up to seven people).
  • Say "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar", face the animal towards Qibla, and swiftly cut the throat.
  • Divide into three partsself, relatives, and the poor.
  • Pilgrims can delegate their sacrifice to authorized services in Mecca or Mina

11. Halq (Shaving the head completely) or Taqsir (Haircut)
  • Men: Completely shave their heads completely (Halq) or trim the hair evenly.
  • Women: Cut a small portion of their hair (about an inch) (Taqsir).
  • Ihram is partially removed after this step

12. Rami on 11th, 12th & 13th Dhul-Hijjah
  • 11th, 12th, & 13th Zilhajj (Tashreeq Days): 7 stones each at all three Jamarat (Small, Medium, Big).

  • Total Stones:
  • Minimum (10th–12th Zilhajj): 49 stones

  • Maximum (10th–13th Zilhajj): 70 stones

  • Takbir ("Bismillah, Allahu Akbar") while throwing each stone.
  • **Throw between zawal (midday) and sunset (except 10th Zilhajj, which starts after Fajr).

13. Tawaf al-Wida (Farewell Tawaf)
  •  
  • Before leaving Makkah, perform Tawaf al-Wida (Farewell Tawaf)

  • This is the final step of Hajj and is mandatory before departure
